There was rust-thru at the bottom of the door panels, and the truck lid as well as the door window sills (typical for Cutlass'). The shop cut out the rust and welded-in new steel, replaced the sills, and repainted the whole sides and trunk lid, only leaving the hood and roof unpainted. Then they replaced the pin stripes with tape. So not quite the same as you, but pretty similar scope and scale of work, and it was about $900 back then. Good work, but kinda spendy (thanks, Dad). Only kept the car a couple years after that, so I don't know how it lasted.
But that rust looks like the kind of salt rust we get here in Wisco. So you gots to make sure your drain holes are clean and all the gunk underneath in the flanges needs to be cleaned out so the car drains as well as it can.
Lucklily I bought my car from New Mexico where they don't use salt, but I'm trying to keep it rust free. So I appreciate your efforts.

Appreciate that, thanks. Which drain holes are we talking about here ? I was unaware of such drain holes..
Further, pearl paint is very costly. This also adds to the price. and my quote was in CAD.
