I dropped the transmission oil pan today. There is not a speck of metal debris inside the transmission or on the drain plug. The transmission is immaculate inside and the transmission fluid is clean. I flush the transmission once a year and the last time I flushed it was 8 months ago. The filter seems a little dirty, but the fluid is clean. No debris whatsoever.

Now I am not sure if changing the filter will solve my 1st-2nd rough shifting problem considering my transmission is clean, with no sign of excessive wear. The filter itself is old, but not clogged to the point it will affect shifting.

The dealer has given me the wrong oil pan gasket, so I am leaving my transmission to drip from the valvebody for a couple of days. This should allow me to fill more new fluid into the transmission. I hope by changing the filter and draining the fluid, the rough shifting will be fixed somewhat.
