No drilling required, and no special tools required. The damper comes set up at the suggested settings, but if more or less dampening is desired, there are some bigger wrenches you'll need to get it adjusted.
Essentially, my wrench set now includes the following that are needed to install, or modify the engine damper kit that I sell:
10mm
17mm (x2)
19mm (x2)
21mm
1/2"
15/16"
1 1/16"
In desiging this kit, I was concerned that the firewall mounting points wouldn't be strong enough, and would bend over time, but I was assured that they would work. I've measured the gap between the firewall and the engine no less than 5 times since I've had the first prototype on (over 5 months) and it hasn't moved - even with me beating the crap out of it when testing the prototype, and then a track day at the NALM in Vegas and another Autox event. I think that unless you're making close to 400 at the wheels, it shouldn't be a problem.........but when I get there, I'll let you know!
