Yes there will be room. Remember you can clock (change position) the compressor housing to face whatever direction you like. I had mine going to an air to air side mount with room to spare.

The turbo intake manifold is not very good since it had to accomodate the intercooler etc so yes it is crap get the non turbo one which will flow heaps better. If the c20at was run without a turbo I bet it would make far less power than a non turbo engine.

I would make sure that the c27 will mate up with c20 manifolds first. You may find that it doesn't. I am not convinced that you could bore a 2.0 to a 2.7 either. It is an open deck design and there is a real limit to how much material you can take off. You might find that a c25 has the same manifold pattern as the 2.0. I am not sure.
