Alright... before I try for a head unit switch, I want to make sure exactly which OEM unit I have, and it's giving me a little bit of a fit. I have a '91 L Coupe which according to the FAQ is supposed to have a 'Standard Bose' 2200 head unit(the one with the 80Wx4, 4-ohm output). It looks like there are two versions of the 2200 that I have seen; the ones with the seven-band EQ (as seen in this ebay auction:
HERE ) and those that look a lot like the 2-ohm 'Bose Premium' head units with the external amp.
What I have is a head unit with a seven-band EQ on it. The photo in the Ebay auction shows(albeit blurry) the 2200 logo underneath the balance/fader control knobs, wheras the unit in my car has a '1600' right above the EQ's menu button.
It looks like I do
not have a 2200 in my car, but I wanted to pose the question here and make certain before I start looking into getting one. Anyone have any ideas on which HU I actually have?
