Ok guys, ya know I had to get n on this. Here's some of my turbo progress. The turbo is mounting right under the front passenger floorboard, inline with the exhaust. The floorboard there was cut out, raised a couple inches, and welded back in to make room for the turbocharger. From there, the charge air goes straight up to an in-car air-to-water intercooler. (Water in the intercooler is cooled under normal driving by a separate radiator at the front, but for racing application, we're just gonna put icewater in the intercooler reservoir.) From the intercooler (which is taking up the space the heater box and ducts used to be) the now-cooled charge air goes straight through the firewall towards the TB. This is all being done with the 2.7 litre, which has proved to be tougher than the 2.0 turbo V6 on our dyno runs. We came to this conclusion when the 2.0 threw a rod when we tested 12 lbs. of boost. The 2.7 ran well with 15psi! Original internal components on both of these tests. No modifications were made to change compression, and a/f ratios had to be constantly adjusted manually during the tests, indicating an aftermarket stand-alone engine management is absolutely necesary. With any load on a boosted c27 with the factory computer, and you'll melt a piston from lean temperature before you know it. Don't write me wanting pictures. As much as I'd like to show off, I have a private sponsor who wants nothing to be seen until the car debut. This is hopefully going to be at the Legend meet in July. Hope to meet you guys there. I hope these ideas help some other cars break 300hp. That's our goal, and when we're done, and the car is shown off, I will be fabricating a few hardware kits to do this install on your Legend with minimal farication for the installer. Let me know if there is some interest in this. All piping will be stainless, and with the remote mount of the turbo, you won't need special headers. I'll try to include all extra stuff, too, like the external oil pump for the turbo, the radiator, hoses, and a midgrade engine management kit. Pricing of the kit I estimate about $3000.
