You're right, as rolling resistance is higher with lower tire pressure. For this crowd, meaning heavy FWD cars, I think the lower tire pressure and better launches more than pays for itself.
To demonstrate absolute highest MPH at the traps, lower tire pressure is not your friend. Post edited accordingly.
