Lightbulb Tire Suggestions?

Recently I was in the market for ordering rims that I have been wanting for a long time:

The 17" x 7" Centerline Monsoon Storm rims, weighing in at an impressive 15lbs (and only ~16-17lbs with triple-plated chrome)!

Center Line Wheels

If I remember correctly (and correct me if I'm mistaken), one of Ferarri's top engineers stated something to the effect of, "Contrary to popular belief, the engine is not the most important component of a vehicle; the tires are, as they are the only component on the vehicle that makes contact with the ground."

I'm thinking about 225/45/17 for the size, as that is the closest size in regards to the outer diameter of the stock tire size (205/60/15). I've also noticed that my speedometer is slightly off when I am on the highway (showing I am going slightly faster than I really am), so this size will help correct the speedometer error as well.

So, I am in need of an excellent set of tires that fit both the rim/tire size specified above, and the always-sought-after "best quality for the price" decision. I'd prefer not to pay more than $125-$150 per tire. However, if your argument is persuasive enough, I may reconsider pricing.

I've been told by several people that TireRack.com is an excellent resource. I've only just begun exploring it and have not come to a clear-cut decision just yet. If anyone has any other suggestions on where else to look, feel free to advertise.

Since I live in Arkansas, which can get to be blisteringly hot during the Summer, I doubt I will ever have a use for tires that provide good performance in snow/ice. We also sometimes have some pretty torrential downpours, so a tire that can cut water well is also preferred.

So, I've narrowed it down to some type of high-performance Summer tire with handling being the topmost priority, followed by ride/comfort, and finally treadwear. In my opinion, tires with an H-speed rating or lower as well as run-flat tires, should be automatically disqualified.

So, I leave it to the Acura-Legend.com members, whom I trust will be able to help me decide. I'm hoping this can be a very thorough thread so that others may be able to use it in the future to help decypher all of the hundreds of different tire options that are available.
