I read your post from the FL caravan and assumed you were in the military:

Not sure if you have ever worked in a military/para military type enviorment before. You don't have a single boss, who is in charge of you. You have many different bosses(a chain of command). Like, say, my shift. There are 11 officers that work on my shift. Then there is a Lt. That Lt. is considered my boss for that shift. Although he's my "boss" he doesn't make my schedule. There is also what's called the administrative Lt. That person makes out a quarterly/weekly schedule depending on whether you are on a quarterly post or a sick and annual post(where you move from shift to shift on a weekly basis covering open posts). Every 6 months there is a different administraitve Lt. That just happends to fall right around now. There for the one i was asking for the time off, blew me off just long enough so now she passed it on to the next guy to decide if he wants to give me the time off. See how that works? It's kinda complicated. I don't have a single guy that i work for that i can go ask if i can have time off and get the ok.
