I went ahead and took it to a tranny shop and was told will need the tranny rebuilt or slap another one. I'm curious if by getting a tranny from like a 96-97 RL will have a better tranny, cause from what I have been reading here in this forum, Legend 's transmissions have a bad rep of breaking down. So Long story short, Is it worth while getting an RL Tranny put in and if so will it direct-fit my Legend??
Ok, one more question, haha, Anyone trusts or have purchased a tranny from those sellers on ebay,?? They claim lowish mileage trannys from Japan, etc..etc. Comments/Suggestions are Well appreciated, Thanks!
The RL trans has different gearing. The Trans computer is built into the engine computer. The transmission computer is programmed for the legend transmission gearing. You cant change it or the programming to the RL trans computer, so therefore i would not recommend using the RL transmission.

Contrary to your statement, I'd have to say the Legend auto trans is one of the toughest made by Honda. Just get another Legend trans and install.
