Slow acceleration, need a diagnose

Hi, this is my first post.

OK, well my problem is that my Legend's acceleration is slow. I have a '91 auto sedan and its slow compared to my friends '91 auto sedan. When Im driving regularly and want to pass someone and gas it a little more (about 3/5 down not WOT) my car just cruises a little faster catching up very slowly, but when I actually step it to WOT my car kicks in and lunges forward going for full speed. Also, when I put it in parking and rev the engine the rpm needle doesnt react right away. There's like a 1 second pause until the rpm actually moves.
My friends car acceleration is perfect. When I drive his car and gas it, even a little bit, the car reacts right away and you could feel the surge of power. When I drive his car I have to have a steady foot and be gentle on it unlike mine. Both of our cars are stock. He has about 80,000mi on his Legend and I have over 120,000mi on mine.

I think I need to change my fuel filter (I still have the stock filter...think this is prob the problem), fuel injection/intake/carb cleaner, PCV valve, and spark plugs. I already checked my air filter but it wasnt dirty.

Do you guys think any of those things will help?
What do you suggest?

Thanks for all your help
