I have had a problem with my cooling fans as well, but almost the opposite if what Migey is describing.

Here it is, when my car starts the fan starts automatically for about 30 second and then shuts off. Sometimes it does not come on again even if the car begins to overheat. Usually all I have to do is shut off the car and start it again and the fan comes on and cools off the engine. I guess something is getting reset? It is pretty bad in stop and go traffinc in the summer and with the summer coming again I want to get rid of this problem.

Any thoughts? Could it have anything to do with the thermostat as well?
