OK i have read the other threads regarding changing the cabin filter and have tried to use them to change my filter but had a problem b/c there were no pictures & only brief descriptions.
Even the Helm manual told me to remove the the glove box frame which was a waste of time b/c there are alot of screws and you don't have to do this. Nor do you need to remove the glove box side covers.
Here is my tutorial for any one else who needs to change their cabin filter and I have included pictures to make your life easier.
Step 1
Remove the three plastic screws & the glove box lower panel & disconnect the connector from it.
Step 2
Remove these 2 screws on each side of the glove box bottom.
Step 3
Then pull down the cloth trim inside the glove box. Next remove the glove box light connector.
Step 4
Disconnect the string behind the cloth trim. Be careful not to break it, this string prevents the box from dropping down hard when you open the glove box.
What I did was I carefully pry off the loop from the bracket.
Step 5
After you remove the glove box, this is what you see. The cabin filter is behind the green and gray plugs.
Step 6
Disconnect these plugs & move the plugs out of the way and remove the screws holding the filter bracket and pull out the filter.
Clean and/or replace the filter. You'll find a lot of leaves and junk when you pull out the filter. Use a vacuum and clean the inside area of where the filter was. Then turn on the blower to circulate all the dust that are trapped in between it.
And wa-la you're done. Installing it is in the reverse order. I hope that this will help some of you.
