Years ago, I used to use Airtouch. After that, I switched to Verizon. It was expensive ($25 a month, for only 60 minutes). They only offered one plan at the time, since they are phasing out analog (and want users to go digital). Note that a few major carriers still offer analog, but it is never advertised. It is usually offered in major cities with one plan option.
Last year, I stopped using that carrier, since I have a digital phone from work that I use for free.
I can still use my OEM analog car phone to dial 911, and if I use a credit card. The phone works great, and the sound quality/signal strength is excellent. It works in areas that my digital phone doesn't.
