Lightbulb I have fixed mine before......

There was no sound coming out of the radio, every once in a while there was fuzz on the speakers but no other sound.
I took the radio apart, every board separated from another. Cleaned all the contact points. That seemed to help for a while, but did not improve the screen brightness.

I pulled it back apart and went over the boards very carefully and located some little square items on one of the boards that had shifted and were not soldered down on the board any more. They must have shifted when the radio got hot or over time since the board was mounted vertically in the radio. Pull the innumerable screws out of the radio and keep up with where they came from. There is one solder joint that needs to be desoldered when you pull the radio apart so locate that when you begin the disassembly. I removed the original solder with a solder wick and then replaced the square whatcha-macallits with new solder and put everything back together. I sanded the post connectors with a little 2000 grit sandpaper and put grease back on every connector before sliding all the boards together.

Now the thing works like a charm and the display is readable. It dims when you turn the lights on and the CD changer part is fully functional. If you dont know how to solder, this will be a very hard task, but still do-able. If you don't like complexity, this may no be the first job like this I would try, but if you take your time, this is a very easy job. I did not take pictures and I do regret that, but may be if one of you would like to send me your radio, I can fix it and take some pictures for you. Nominal fee plus shipping would be in order, but then the rest will know how to fix it.
