Ok so maybe a few of you thought I was kidding when I said I was going to use linolium some plastic a leather boot and some strong glue, oh no

and here you go . . . I am sure that I am not completely satisfied but I am more happy than I was when I was staring at that hole in my console. Oh yeah yes the car is very dirty right now, but who has time to clean when you're DIYing.
Sorry for the blurriness in some of the shots came out better without the flash, and I wasnt about to break out the tripod.

Linolium tile =great template (easy to cut but bad idea for asthetics!)

This shot is somewhat similar to what I would see in the day the display sits back a bit ( I think it helps block some light?)
Screens a little dirty too couldn't tell until I took pics
( I need a camera phone)

Much Thanks and props to whom evers picture this was ( I hope you don't mind)

Ahh the beauty of Winamp, a superwide variety of decks and a 250 band EQ

This has nothing to do with the Car computer but the heat shield was another good DIY investment, I notice a substantial difference on the left side from the right side. it is puffed up a bit like a stuffed pillow so when the hood is down it blocks the heat from the engine bay ( there is also shielding under the short ram total cost about $15.00) Metal was scrap from a computer case and material can be bought at a hardware store. And yes I know get a better filter. Hope you liked the update
