Painted Calipers and SS Brake Lines Install

Note: Was looking through the new "archive" thread and realized that I posted this at acuraworld.com, but never here...I think the forum was having issues then. So either way...here is a copy for the A-L crowd.

Hey guys,

Installed my Stainless Steel Brake lines this weekend. Also took the opportunity to Paint the calipers since the hoses were removed. Painted them Ford blue…didn’t want to go red like everyone else…and wanted to pay tribute to my Bronco. Lines were acquired from www.kingmotorsports.com for $112.06 Part number AC 910. These are the SS lines that are encapsulated in Clear PVC. Made by Techna-fit. It’s a six piece set with a single line for each front brake and a two piece line for each rear brake.

Installation went smoothly…took about a day since I had to wait for layers of paint to dry. Paint was hi temp engine enamel. Used Brake cleaner and a wire brush to clean prior to painting. Rolled up bits of newspaper was used to keep paint out of internals and bolt hole threads. Bled them today and the feel is much firmer on the lower 2/3rds of the pedal stroke.

Here are some pics…

Later

Parts removed and disassembled.

Comparison of brake lines…front old and new.

Painted caliper with paint removed from banjo bolt “sealing area” paint removed with fine wire brush on a dremel.

Front completed project…slotted/drilled rotors installed about 6 months ago.

Rear completed project.
