yep..
you stuf a paper clip or hair pin or some piece of metal to both of the terminals on the plug and when you turn the key to the "on" position the Check Engine light will blink codes if your ECU has a code stored...
It's called OBD-I(1) (On Board Diagnostics version One)
OBD-I lasted until 1995 on most cars in 1996 OBD-II (2) was fitted to all cars by all manufacturers.
