The 528i: 193HP/206 Lbs/FT The 540i: 282HP/324 Lbs FT That is a big difference, and one that you can feel. If power you don't care about, then no problem. But I know most folks around here always want more of it. I love the power, as Graeme mentioned, but I want more of it. S/C, here I come.

Stock for stock the only advantage the Bimmer would have is handling and torque. I think they have a 5 speed tranny to, I cant remember though.

You mean sport package? Or do you mean the styling package? Yes on both. But here is the thing. You need not wring out the power in the V8 - it just lays it down for you. In either case, you cannot go wrong. Just trying to save you the hassle of wanting to go the other route later. I test drove both before my purchase. I was won over by the power of the v8.

![]() 507 HP, 383lbs Ft, V10 on the M5/M6. My guess is that they wrung it out for what they could with only the displacement they used. An S/C'd V8 is going to be sickness, especially if done correctly. As for me, if I do what I am thinking 19x9 +18mm F, 19x11 +25mm R. The new rear end is begging for something wider than 9.5 based on the M5 rear end. They are tucking.... Thanks for all of the love!

well like i was saying if power is equal to or better than a Legend the ill stick with a 528. the Legend is babied as is or granny driven and the same would be for the 5 wagon. im a luxo cruiser type person, tho i would love to have the V8 rumble at the control of my foot but for a decent looker the 528 would be closer in budget bug have the same looks. as long as im getting the looks package of the M5 as does the 540it i really wouldnt care for anything else. 6speed wagons didnt come out for the e39 models right

10/4 sir....
Good argument. No 6 speeds, but 5 speeds did with the 528iT
