The life of my 5 with pictures

well i finally got my 5 series(Carrie and Brandons old car) back over the weekend and i figured i would share with everyone the life of my 5er... there are a few pictures that i have that are missing but when i get to my home computer i will add those on also. they are the ones with the front end completely gone.

now to the pictures i have of its lifespan:

purchase: blown m106 but with all turbo goodies intact: purchase price $2200

Sadly the pretty euro face got kicked in by my garage so i had to start all over. I ended up replacing the entire front panel, euro lights, bumper, and fender.

because of this i stripped all the paint and repainted it too, this is where pictures will be added later tonight to show the car while i was replacing the front panel

here is the tear down:

Primered and going to the paint shop

While searching for a new front bumper i ran across a member on mye28.com selling an mtech kit. i jumped on it in a heartbeat and added it to my project.

here is the end result of it all. It still needs sanded and buffed but the body shop want the paint to cure as long as possible before they do that. i am also missing a few pieces to get it complete but as of right now this is it.

It is using the 745i turbo with a miller wastegate and full 3 inch exhaust. Im currently working on a front mount intercooler setup and i will be installing megasquirt within a month. otherwise it has H&R sport and Bilstein sports all around with an gigantic unknown front and rear sway bar. it also has a big brake kit from a 850ci. hopefully when the FMIC and megasquirt get fitted i will hopefully be able to run 14-15psi vs the 7.5 im running now

This has been the most expensive and quickest build i have done but it is turning out very very nicely, and is turning into one of my favorites... 60-120 has never taken so little effort.

Well well well

I need to see this thing in person! No chance you're bringing it to Branson in May?

Good lookin in and out!

The low key look is great. Assuming that snail makes some good power, that's a heck of a sleeper you've got goin on!

with it running only 7psi i would say it has about 300-320hp or so, but that is just guesimating on factory numbers. Im hoping with a tune and a FMIC and a few more PSI i could be pushing around ~400hp. i have surprised several people with it already because it is just that, a sleeper.... and thats why i like it so much more

Yeah man, it doesn't take much in the older cars for them to roll 'cause they're light. More power is always fun though... as long as you have the grip for it.

That 3 in your sig... need more info.

ya my 3 is another one of my little projects, gone to far.

I just recently put a motor from a 95 525i into it, along with headers and a chip. its hell of a ride now

its has full suspension and sway bars
20% tint
full factory sport interior
US spec projectors
plastic bumpers swapped on
no cat
fresher paint (done in 2006)
new dash
mtech 2 steering wheel
the list goes on and on and on

basicly on that car its easier to say what havent you done because i have done so much work to it.

PICS!!

apparently i have less newer ones than i thought... heres some before to bumper conversion

That M50 looks awful familiar! Quite like the S52 I'm used to The headers are gorgeous too

That 3 wasn't in Roundel was it? I distinctly recall a gray 3'er w- borbets in front of a field of yellow flowers someplace... I need to go dig in my collection now.
