I'd prefer decent car, with fat account. I'm with Jack on that one. It not like he's driving a hooptie.

yes, i bought an insight..it's not "stupid", it saves me time out of my life on my 31 miles commute each way since i can use the carpool lane. plus i get nearly triple the gas mileage, so it will pay for itself in a few years.

finally, not sure who the "total dumbass" is really....the poor guy with no money to his name driving the nice car, or the frugal guy with a fat bank account...hmm, i wonder

So let me get this straight, you went from this...

(Different color I know)

to this...

I'm not one to judge on a man's financial and personal decisions, so if it's workin' for ya and it makes you happy, More power to ya.

Oh yeah, I wanna see a twin turbo in that insight so we can make some triple digits to the wheels. Jk.

props

Well, clutch masters is using an insight with a boosted k series in it. Keep in mind, it is super light, and has the lowest co-efficient drag of any car.

Also, tax breaks, and he's not destroying the environment in the car pool lane. I give 'em props.

I was giving him props too, just in a more roundabout way.

Wow Jack, you sold the M5? That's a pitty. Any reason other the fuel economy?

What do you have in mind for a garage queen? Can we hope for a 6MT coupe project?

That's a smart thing to do. With 31 mi commute I'm sure you'll be stuck in traffic for a long time everyday. With gas prices these days it makes a huge difference on your bank account. At least you have a carpool lane where you work... there's none going from downtown LA to westwood. Plus when you're stuck in traffic it takes fun out of driving. I luv my legend but the traffic totally ruins the joy out of driving

hey jack does the motor shut off at the light. i hear those and the civics have auto start. when you stop at a light, the motor shuts off, then when you release the pedal it starts up and keeps on going.

yeah, that's all hybrid though. The Prius does the same thing. The gas motor shuts off, and the electric runs only. the regenerative braking also charges the electric motor as well. Old news. Even Mercury's SUV hybrid has that stuff.

Carpool was the main reason. fuel economy was gravy.

garage queen: likely an '05 NSX, the last year made, looking for something under 5k miles. will be about $70k

Great call. The M5 was awesome but I'd have a hard time deciding between it and an NSX. I think I'd go the NSX route too.

The NSX has had a piece of my heart since I first saw one in a dealership when Mom bought her Integra. I think that was 15 years ago (so I would've been 7). I hope to own one someday... even if it isn't the fastest thing you can buy for the money.

At least your priorities are in line it sounds. E39 is pretty timeless looking though imo.
