The 59' Thunderbird. Had a nice weekend in Yakima, Wa. We took the T-bird out for a cruise. More to come later.

Is it my old eyes or does that all look like a diecast car and little set?

its real, its a film effect i forget what they call it. sort of an overexposed thing. you can tell its real by looking at the plant life. unless you think people can make fake grass and weeds etc look THAT good THAT small.

Is it real or is it Memorex? I'm not sure how to take that. All you are looking at is photocompression of the scene from a medium telephoto lens. I threw the backgound out of focus with a wide aperature. The car is actually several feet from the barn and field. The f2.8 aperature throws the background in soft-focus to make the subject stand out. I have a few more shots from the same cruise I will put up tonight.

Trust me, I would never try to fake this. It is a lot easier to make this shot than to try and fake it. You can do the same thing. Give it a try.

Equipment list:
Canon 5D
Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS lens
B+W Kaesemann circular polarizer
big-ass tripod
Smoke & mirrors left at home

Here is a few more shots from our ride.

Here is a shot of a diecast sign that some friends of ours have outside of their cabin. I remember as a little kid when our family friend made this sign. It does not fit with the other pictures but shows the emphasis made with blurring the background with a wide aperature. The lens is a Canon 50 1.2L.
