Yellow Prelude 4WS 5MT
My fifth 3rd gen Prelude. This is my second 1989. Almost as addicted to them as I am to Legends.
![]() Picked this one up two weeks ago from a guy who was moving out of the country. It's mechanically sound (new plugs, cap, rotor, clutch, TB/WP, filters, etc) and rides like it's on rails as any 4WS Prelude should. The Barbados Yellow was only offered in 88 and 89 so this is a pretty rare find, especially rust-free and in decent condition. This car originated in Florida and the first owner was a female (Her name's written in the owner's manual). The guy I bought it from owned it since 1999. It's got 162k on it. I haven't even really had time to work on it yet, but it does need some detailing. The paint is faded. Also on the to-do list: - Finish removing pinstripe - Remove aftermarket sound system and install stock - Remove aftermarket muffler and install stock - Trade aftermarket BBS wheels for stock - Front bumper repaint The key handoff but we forgot the key. I literally took ownership just minutes before I dropped him off the airport to fly to Canada and then on home to Hungary. ![]() Over at my friend CJ's house borrowing his buffer to start on the paint. He drives a white '90 Si. ![]() ![]() Small progress already: The back before. Who puts a tow hitch on a sports car?! ![]() ![]() After. ![]() Stay tuned. |

Thanks Earl, yeah I'll leave them on for the time being. The tires are brand new so unless a killer deal comes along on some stock sawblade 14's, I'll leave these alone.
Haha! Thanks Ed. But yeah, this guy was a character. He does indeed do yoga... eats all organic foods... obsessed about health & wellness. He had some kind of "mood music" on the CD player during the test drive. An interesting purchase experience no doubt! Bumper stickers were the FIRST thing to go.And I asked what he towed with the hitch. He showed me a picture of the U-Haul trailer he brought all the way to AZ from FL. Why anyone in their right mind would tow something with a Prelude is beyond me. I saved the hitch, though. Maybe someday I'll pick up a four wheeler or jet ski that I need to transport . |

Myself I have two legends an old work van a motorcycle I rarely ride and a 62 nova that a friend and I were going to restore 5 years ago that sits in storage. My friends think I'm nuts an make used car lot jokes when they come over. So Tyson, how many cars do you have? And your garage is how big?

I'll post some tonight. Just grabbed a few pics from my laptop to post up before I came into work this morning. Front bumper has a couple good size chips that need touched up. One thing I love about the front end of this car as compared to the front end of the 90-91's is that the fog lights on the 88-89's are yellow. It's sexy at night.
5-speed all the way. Quote:

Nice Nova! Plenty of drag race potential right there .Never done a 4th gen!! I don't mind them. Maybe someday! Yeah thankfully this one's completely rust free! The body does have some dings and scratches but nothing bad at all considering the car is ~20 years old. Almost a classic! |
