Your not getting quality responses because you didnt ask in the correct section.*Moved*

This one has been discussed before as has the CL Type S comptech flywheel.
The NSX wont work, forget why, you can search, while the CLS has a strong chance of working for 1k+
I actually went to comptech a while back with a legend dual mass flywheel and compared it to the CLS and NSX alongside a shop engineer.

I still have to check the bolt hole locations and the width of the crank shaft. If the NSX flywheel bolts up do you think it would be possible to use a NSX clutch.

I just compared the 5 speed flywheel vs the early 90's NSX flywheel that I bought and the bolt holes are identical and the hole for the shaft is the same size as well. The only difference is that the NSX fly is 1 tooth smaller than the Legend fly.
Does anyone think that this would be a big problem? These teeth butt against the gear for the dif correct?

That would be the starter ring gear and 1 tooth shorter should not make a difference. Tooth length and spacing are more critical. Does the flywheel have the same outside diameter? More importantly does the legend pressure plate bolt to the flywheel?

I think that using the Legend clutch with the NSX flywheel is out of the question.

The outside diameter on the Legend fly is 1'-7/16" whereas the NSX fly is 1'-5/16". The Legend fly is almost an 1/8" bigger.

The teeth on the Legend fly are slightly more pointy, whereas the NSX is a little more flat. If you place the two fly wheels side by side and join the teeth together they intertwine about half way.

Matt, how critical of a difference to you think this is?

Why is the match out of the question? Do the bolt holes for the pressure plate line up? If the NSX flywheel is smaller in diameter the starter pinion may not engage properly with the ring gear.

No, the holes on the NSX fly do not match up with the one's on the Legend fly which would lead me to believe that if I were to use this flywheel it would most certainly have to be with the NSX pressure plate and clutch.

I wonder if it would be possible to swap starter gears??

Thats a big gamble to take, make sure the seller has a lenient return policy . If the starter doesn't mesh properly its probably going to be a bitch to get it to work. Now you need to compare the height of the NSX pressure plate and see if it will position the clutch to fully engage with the input shaft on the Legend transmission, along with being the same number of splines.
