Letters/Numbers 4-6 are the chassis code, G2s for example will always be KA7 (sedan) or KA8 (coupe) regardless of the market they were sold in.

Did you misread what I wrote? I didn't say every Acura started with JH4KA, just every Acura branded Legend (Honda branded ones are probably JHMKA).

Of course that agrees with your post, the JH4 is the Acura manufacturer code and KA is the first two letters of the Legend chassis code, which is why I'm confused ...

Unless you have access to Honda's records, there's no way to tell from the VIN alone if it's CA spec or not. The easy way to tell is to look at the emissions label, and see if it meets Federal standards or Federal and CA standards.

All US and Canada spec Legends follow this convention:

JH4KAuvwxyCz00000

JH4 = Acura, made in Japan
KAu = chassis/engine code, where u depends on 1G or 2G, and engine size.
v = manual or auto transmission
w = trim level
x = check digit
y = model year
C = Saitama factory, Japan
z = US or Canada
00000 = sequential production number

Your english is good . It doesn't look like there's much else for you to be able to swap in, since only the KY and KT locale's didn't have oxygen sensors.

PM sr5guy though, he's the expert on these things and I think he might be really interested in your ECU.
