BREMBO rotors from Race Concepts ... Authentic?

Guys,
I called and race concepts is selling the brembo cross drilled and slotted combo for the front and rear for 230.00.. my question is.. are they REAL AUTHENTIC BREMBOS? reason i ask is because EVERYwhere else sells this combo for 450.00 for the set... many shops tell me that if it is too cheap.. it is too good to be true... plus some shops state that they buy the brembos and drill them themselves.. and they are not as good...

has anyone had experiences buying from race concepts? and are the rotors truely brembo? do they say brembo on them? any warpage or probs with them?

thanks!

eric

Brembo only makes OEM like rotors for our cars, The cross drilled or slotted or both comes from shops that buys and then refinishes them.

I guess you can sell them at $230 and still make a profit.
Rotors problay cost around $25 (Wholesale) a piece then drill or machined for another $15, total $160.

Also the rear rotors will more than likely be Bradi (Which is the same thing as Brembo, so don't worry) as Brembo themselves don't make a rear disk for the Legend.

Eric, I have true Brembos from irotors.com and have had no problems at all. Last month, Elvis Nguyen (the owner) offered to sell all Legend rotors for $110 a set, front or rear, with zinc plating to Forum members. Hit him with an e-mail or call and see what he'll do. Tell him Stevieray sent ya...

I have the rotors from Mr. Wood and they are teriffic. Once I learned not to spray the rotors down with the hose when washing the car warm they have lasted a long time without warping. Be sure to get Dimpled....not X-drilled, this lessens the chance of weakening the rotors.

That's $110 for 2 (front or rear) and they are slotted and cross-drilled.

Edub: There are 4 holes per line and 8 slots, I think. Kinda hard to see with the caliper in the way. It's either 8 or 9.

LegendC: Good point about not getting the rotors wet when hot. We'd probably all be surprised as to how many people take a steaming hot rotor into a car wash. I disagree about the dimple vs. cross-drilled, though. The whole purpose of either is to dissipate heat and gases off of the rotor surface and a cross-drilled rotor is MUCH more efficient in that aspect. I had my 1st set of cross-drilled Brembos for about 2 1/2 years and they never cracked. Typically, if the cross-drilled hole is chamfered, it should not crack. ("should" being the operative word here) Later--

I got my Brembos around $265 for all 4 from Mr. Wood @raceconcept and it came in original Brembo boxes and has their rotors engraved w/ company logo and specs on the outer edges and hasn't warped since I got them last yr. It was to replaced my Powerslots that had warped shortly after breaking it in, what a piece of crap.
Awhile back brembo never offer crossdrilled/slotted applications for Legend, at least not until recently i think.

They still don't I believe. All of our rotors all came in Brembo boxes and the fronts are engraved with Brembo, but the rears are Bradi which is the parany company or Over sears Brembo company or something like that. If brembo now offers a rear application for the Legend I guess that is good news.

Eirc, I bought mine from Elvis during one of the very first Group Buys about 2-3 years ago. I did not know he was part of irotors as mentioned bystevieray above. At teh time he was simply calling himself Elvis. If so, I guess it is the same, however, I have a silver CAD plated rotor set and I heard he no longer does this.

Chris, you are correct. Bradis and Brembos are one and the same. Irotors.com is Elvis' internet business and although he doesn't offer cad plating anymore, he DOES offer zinc plating. It's usually an additional $25 per set but he was throwing it in for free last month. Later---
