just reading this makes me wanna do the 3.5 swap instead of fixing the BHG cause I actually think it would be cheaper. 3.5 FTW!

I am having the 3.5L swap done on my 95 L Automatic sedan next weekend, or the following week, depending on the arrival of the hybrid mount from jkurl. My mechanic will be using the DIY instructions on the first page, and will be using the complete RL long block.

My question is do I have to port and polish the intake manifold? Or will I be alright if we just get the long block and follow the DIY. I realize that improving the airlflow will be beneficial, and I will do that later on. Right now I just need to get the car running, and I wonder if stock-everything will hurt the the engine or transmission.

Thanx for the DIY, by the way.

A stock 3.5 will be just fine not all the 3.5 swaps done have been as performance minded as others. my sedan has a stock 3.5, and I love it. btw, I've got my end of the mount situation covered, could have used more lead time but I'm willing to do what I can to get it out fast

How does it do on gas mileage? I wonder if I wil have to get a '93 civic hatch back for daily driving and save the legend for the weekend and out of state drives. A trip to NYC used to cost me 3 full tanks round trip. I wonder if it's gonna be much worse with the 3.5, or even feasible.

Can somebody comment elaborately on the difference in gas mileage and what may be short comings, or gains, if any, of going with the 3.5 as far as economy is concerned. This is for the all stock swap, of course.

Thanx.

for the short while I had the 3.5 before putting in a modified ecu chip it seemed to get about the same mileage but its hard to say with the way I drive plus I was probably driving a bit harder than usual testing it out. I cant think of a short coming and the torque gains are nice.

My car is up on the lift and I'm trying to get the upper most bolt/nut off the joint pipe. Its connected to the oem header and its not going anywhere? Any ideas? I've PB blasted, waited, and I have all air tools but its at an angle just out of reach for an extension. PLEASE HELP, again its on the lift and in the middle of dropping the motor out of the bottom. Tips or tricks???

You have to use a 3/8 drive, MAC Brand, 6 Point, 14mm, shallow impact swivel socket.

It should look exactly like this one but in 14mm size.
