It's mostly from engine braking. The transmission is set up to drag your speed down a bit when you let off the gas for increased engine braking.

Ok, where does the other coolant tube on the differential go? If you don't get what I mean, I can put up pictures.

Don't hook up the coolant to the differential. It doesn't need it and it's just one more thing to leak.

Block it off. It should have had a block from the factory.

3.5 Tranny

I have a question... Would the 3.5 tranny bolt in as easy as the 3.2? If not.. What are the mods involved?

No, the electronics of the RL engine will not work in a Legend.

I used RL sensors, you just have to extend the wires because they're on opposite sides.

Just another set of my 2 cents for those that are going to do the swap you should also polyurethane your tranny mount and replace your front motor mounts

Or go all out and change all the seals, hoses, water pump, timing belt ~ anything you can get to. You'll probably never have an easier time getting at those things unless your engine somehow falls out of your car.

Great work DV8!

Now that I know what the intake looks like inside, I feel like I should make the same changes that you have. You wouldn't happen to have any more pictures of the manifold out of the engine, would you? I'll keep searching, if it is obvious, I'll find them.

I must again say, great work!

Anyways think of your valves going up and down at 7k and if you have no seperation from bank to bank one intake runner may get more or less air etc.

Even the machinist who did my flanges brought up how i would build in a sepration plate(divider) before i told him....and he is a normal machinist!!

SO that sepration you cut out and filled in was there for a reason per HONDA engineers.

I was more concerned with it not lining properly up and you had to add weld etc......that is what i was giving you grief about originally. No worries you still have one of the best legends out there for now.
Sorry to revive this post...but I hate this guy. Every post of his that I've read has me cracking my knuckles and loosening up my neck. I pray to god that he really is banned and that 'Banned' isn't somebody's sick joke of a user title.

Somebody needs to explain that plenum volume is IMPORTANT for top end power. Screw the nonsense about Honda engineers decided this and that. You know the guys in the nerdery at Honda didn't expect you to want to do a single different thing to the engine in the Legend/RL. Gearheads were not the intended market group. They wanted low-end, they wanted smooth, and they didn't give a damn about those last three horsepower.

I'm also taken by surprise that this moron repeated advice given to him by a guy who cuts metal on a machine (who may or may not have all his teeth). This same moron tells everyone in a later post that he quit automotive school because he knew more than the instructors...yet he is talking about 'shockwaves' in what amounts to a modified short runner large plenum intake. So low-end might suffer a bit, but most people don't look for extra peak horsepower at 2000rpm but shockwaves traveling up the intake runners into the plenum are not a concern at high rpms, they just aren't...except if you ask those F1 guys who run 2inch runners on five liter plenums...but they're assholes who don't make any power.

/Rant
