By the way, sorry I called you a jerk Christian, but you seem a tad snobby sometimes. Plus, I'm defensive. Anyway, headers seem bada$$.

Wouldnt you be if youve spend all the cash i have, done all the work I've done to Legend performance, and then get flamed by people that dont even know the half of it?

I do carry myself a little higher, however i think its deserved and im not afraid to admit it.

I'm pretty defensive too, its all good.

Hey guys...when I went to a local shop to get my exhaust done, the guys immediately starts talking about "You don't have headers? I can make you some", and draws this big picture showing how he'd do it. In my short time on this board, I've picked up on some things, like, headers are NOT easy to make for this car.

So I quiz him about doing it on a Legend, and he goes "Yeah, we've done several". I think he actually farms the work out to a local performance shop (maybe he fabricates part of it, dunno), but I think he said $600 for the setup.

I'll admit to being new to modding cars, what do you guys think about that? BS?

I'll give you an A+ for effort and ingenuity. Spending that much on R&D with little hope of recoup is more than I would be willing. Hopefully enough people will actually buy the production unit once available. However, I'm not that optimistic given the history of window shoppers in the past. Don't let me get you down.....if I still had my car, you know I'd be on the list for headers !!!

Keep up the good work....and I hope it works out for you.

Yeah, I've gotta go back and talk to the guy, and find out exactly
how many they've done (he swore over and over he'd done them on Legends),
if its dynoed, etc. I agree it sounded very unlikely.

Can you experts give me some questions to ask? I have a car savvy buddy I'll take with me as well, but last time I really didn't know what to ask the guy, not to mention not having the $$$ to do it.

And what happened to the other member who said he was getting headers for $800 and it was almost done?

Any shop can make a et of headers really. It doesnt mean though that they will make power, nor does it mean they will look good, be constructed out of SS, or even have clean solid welds. I would garuntee this guy is just trying to sell you business. Just look at how SMALL this community is, and how many people actually mod their Legends. Now tell me if you even see a bunch of moddified Legends in your area. Now tell me if you think this guy has even made more than 2-3 exhuasts for a Legend.
What you would want to do first is see the quality in the work he does. If its not PRISTINE, then I would just walk right away. Now even if his work quality is GREAT, and he writes the price on paper and you get a reciept that is valid for $600 before he begins work, you still may not even gain any power. Hey, it might peak 2-3 whp and ft lbs and sound cool. But you really just won't know.

The biggest problem with creating Legend headers is the space constraint.

How's this coming? Did you have a chance to evaluate/dyno the new setup?
