This tells me I may have to get the other ECU to extract the full potential. Dv8, you mentioned an S-AFC will fix that. Is that enough, or should I get the other ECU? On the dyno, it felt like it had more to go, I let off *right* as it touched the tip of the red (Type I gauges)
As soon as i get access to my website i'll post the dyno graph.
50 shot dry tuned with the SAFC 237WHP 250Lb-ft.
Im still having issues with the direct port. i have to step down the fuel jets, since my walbro is pushing out about 55psi and i dont have a regualtor yet. An FMU is in the works.
The jetting may just be too big for fuel.
the two 1/4 dynos i did while squeezing the direct port (fuel solenoid disconnected)before it went lean was already showing 250lbft and 200whp at 2800rpm.
I concluded that the simulation of real world air movement to the front intake on the dyno is very poor. i posted a 194whp and 204lbft on the first n/a run. we turned on another fan in the front, maybe pushing total between the two, 5mph wind torwards the intake and its second run posted 200whp 209lbft. its too bad they dont have a high velocity fan.

Factory specs are 230 at the fly wheel and 206 torque also at the flywheel.
I got 215hp & 221 torque at the wheels. Definately not under factory specs.
Dyno'd on April 20th, 2002. Dyno used was a Mustang Dyno.

Well guys, I finaly dynoed my car for the first time. I used this time to tune my S-AFC as well.
Here is where I stand (after S-AFC tuned by myself):
Max HP: 211.4 @ 6276 rpm
Max TQ: 182.2 @ 5469 rpm
Ran in 4th gear, ambient temperature of 22 degrees Celcius.
This if the first time I've tuned an S-AFC but tried to get the AF ratio in the high 13s. Actually the BEST run I did showed a 213whp but it was a wierd spike on that graph. Overall I was satisfied with the results, just thought the torque would have been a bit higher. I wonder why?
BEFORE SAFC tuning I ran these #s:
Max HP: 203.3 @ 6240 rpm
Max TQ: 177.5 @ 5457 rpm
This is with my current mods, but more mods are sure to come
What's a stock WHP on the 6-speed about?
Now need to find time to run a 1/4 mile
My friend with me took some pics and video of the car running, I will get them posted once he uploads them to me.

great WHP #'s! 11 more to the wheels than i have and i can seem to get anymore unless i swap out the flywheel. Is your the stock flywheel or modified?
cant belive that 300cc genterates 30lbft more, amazing.
The dyno you used was the dyna packs? you think those are better to dyno on?
You ought to see if you can level out that dip at 4500k in the TQ graph with the safc.

Thanks.. yeah.. I was thinking the same about the slightly larger displacement.. making me think..
My flywheel is original, never changed from factory. I have had it machined 2 times so far (proves to you that with a good machine shop, our flywheels ARE ABLE to be machined), you think it took off enough weight to make a difference? THey only shave a couple fractions of a mm each time you think. My crank pully is from a Type-I though which is half the weight of the Type-II.
I wonder if bumping up 1 or 2 % at 4000 and 5000 would fix that "dip"? Probably will be a while before i'm on one again.
With respect to the dyno, I never knew the "dyna packs" style dyno existed! I always thought they were just rollers. It's pretty cool the way this works and the technician claims it's more accurate as it bolts directly to your hub. I'm sure there's alot of discussion on the web about advantage and disadvantages.
I'll post pics soon so you can see the setup.
BTW.. this proves to you what a Legend motor with 180,000 miles can still do.

the results of my first dyno are a little disappointing, considering I have a six-speed type II with the stage 2 chip and a Remus mufffler. But nonetheless here goes:
Peak WHP: 182.9 @ 6200
max torque: 171.3 lbft, pretty consistently between 3100 rpm to 5600 rpm.
AF dips from 13.8 to 11 between 2600 and 2800 rpm, evening out to around 13.2 until it starts dropping off evenly from 4500 to 11.5 at 6500 rpm
Dyno was done on a Dynojet, and a high-Velocity fan was placed in front of the car.
btw torque and hp intersect at 5600 on mine. does that sound right?
The guy said my car is running too lean, considering the slight mods, and I need to open up breathing for the engine.
My next steps are to put on a short ram intake, and replace the cat with a more open one (magnaflow). Those two mods alone should hopefully restore whp considerably. My only concern is that it would probably only bring it back up to stock hp or slightly over. Right now, my Legend does feel a little lethargic.
I got the Turbo Legend Dynoed!!!
Kinda depressing actually, but not horrid. I maxed at 200hp and 205 ftlbs.
Not too bad considering all of the problems. My uncorrected were 165hp and 170ftlbs roughly for Parker, CO. I will send the dyno sheets to some one to post, but not to bad for starters. The bumper is also actually formed and on the car= Bad Ass! I already ordered a new .5BAR spring which is about 7.5psi.
Once the mods I am planning are done we should see 300+ hp/tq. The numbers were up about 35 from near stock na setup. I still feel the car dosnt give accurate #ers, but this is as good as it gets for now.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thx, Kyle
