Looks like a nice dyno shop, cant beat the price. I'm starting to wonder if california ECU's restrict performance in some way.

Someone please re-sticky this thread.

Willy did tell me that the emission on a CA car were tighter program wise.(of course). He had different programs for CA spec ECU'S. L= CA and A= FED. the Letter on the ecu before the two digits; example L52. I know you already know that. Im just typing it for the rest.

Actually, the fuel and ignition maps and everything else on the chip is the same. The only difference is the absense of a resistor. What this resistor does, I do not now... but I identified it and it is VERY easy to convert a FED ECU to a CALI ECU.

Converting a California Emmissions ECU into A Federal Emmissions ECU

Locate the blank resistor pad, R411 on the circuit board, circled in red:

Solder in a 1% Tolerance 1K Ohm Resistor. Color code: Brown - Black - Black - Brown. Tolerance 1% - Brown

To convert a federal ECU into a California ECU, simply snip this resistor off!

Money and time. Trust me I'm working on it - its always on my mind. The critical component is data-logging support - we already have real-time modification capability, but no one is interested. I haven't lost interest, but there doesn't seem to be any interest from anyone else. I feel alone .

sr5guy, I'm 100% interested. I would love to save the money, versus going with a standalone. What do you need help with?
