Headers, Turbo Manifolds and more....
There's been a lot of talk on these forums regarding getting headers made and turbo manifolds fabricated.
Here are some parts that I've put together over the past couple of weeks for you guys. I've been working with Kotetu to get a set of headers made for his Legend and hopefully we can do a small production run for others as well. First off, the flanges are 304 Stainless. My cost for this first set was $89.- cash. To do a run of 50 of these flanges, exactly as you see here, the price would drop to about $40 per pair. The model image is what my final flange would look like after performing the CNC machining operations. These would reduce the weight of the flange, provide better sealing and overall "pretty" up the flange. I haven't gotten a quote on the machined flange, but I'm certain it wouldn't cost more than $60 per set of two. The collectors are 1-1/2" pipes in 304 stainless again. This set I've flared out to provide a slip fit for making an adjustable length header for development purposes on Kotetu's Legend. I haven't cut the back end of the collectors off yet because I want to do some testing on ventrui diameters for the header once it's built. To do a production run of headers for you guys, I would need a minimum of 25 orders. No final price has been established yet. We do not have power figures yet either. I will certainly post that information when I'm ready to take orders. My biggest snag is getting a Legend to work on at this time. If anyone in the Southern California area would like to volunteer their car, PM me and I'll give you more information. For you guys looking to do turbo manifolds, the same offer applies still. Put me next to a car with the turbos, and I'll crack out a beautiful set of equal length turbo manifolds that'll last longer than you'll own your car. Oliver Kho |

Just a clarification, I'm looking for a second generation Legend for this set of headers.
Someone double check me on this, but my understanding is that the 2 door automatics have the tightest engine bays? That would provide me with the worst case scenario to build the pipes around. They should fit any Legend from there. At the very least, you'll be getting your Legend dyno tested for free. For anyone really serious about their car, I'm AEM EMS certified and the owner of the dyno is as well, along with being an AEM sponsored racer. I hope this sweetens the pot. |

Folks, I've gotten two offers for cars since I posted this, so I'll up the ante a little.
If I use your car for the development, I'll sell you the development header that was built and tested around YOUR car for the price of the materials. That's $89 for the head flanges plus the material for the collectors, bends, and Y-pipe. The development header will be different from the production header. They'll have the same lengths, diameters and performance, but the production version will be a one piece bend, CNC flanges and integrated collectors. If you'd prefer, I can discount the cost of the production header to the same price. I'll need your car for about a week. Then figure a day or two for development on the dyno. You're welcome to be a part of the process, I'd be more than happy to share what I'm doing to your car. For those of you thinking of an AEM EMS, this would be a great opportunity to upgrade to that as well. I've already spoken to friends at AEM about modifying the NSX EMS' hardware to match the Legend's requirements a bit better. Hope this helps.
