Ignition Light Ring / Security Light ? LED Bulbs

I didnt see anything specific to these questions so with that, i'll fire away....

1. The light around my ignition went out. Any way to replace with a LED bulb?

2. The security light (by the door lock/red light) is out on my legend, while i know it isn't the end all be all in security, does anyone know how to get the light flashing about as a visual deterrent?

If you don't have something in place to blink it already how did you find out it was out?

So wait, did they constantly blink? I assumed they were wired into the factory security system.

If that's the case then, in the handful of legends I've been in, I've never seen one working. I guess I wouldn't be too anxious to replace it if it burned out.

Yes they all constantly blinked with the doors locked. Its not the LED itself but it may be the little switch the LED sits on. Mine is out as well and i took it out when i was cleaning my door panels. Tried to test the LED for resistance and the tiny amount of current from my ohmmeter lit the light.

You can definately change the light around the ignition, unfortunately I did it so long ago I've forgetten which # it is. I'm pretty the one I got for the Sedan (Blue) was from SUPER BRIGHT LEDS home

It comes off pretty easy. I'm looking to get one for the coupe in the future, a red one...

only 2 or so screws hold that trim on the ignition, if im not mistaken theres one on top which they only way to get to it is if you take your guage cluster out and uncrew it from there and there's one on the bottom. pretty simple to do. I redid mine and used hyper white leds, and i have them running every time i turn on my headlights unless it's always on...been awhile and i dont remember how it is stock.

i didnt end up using the stock bulb socket, i just rewired it to a led bulb or two. Took a dremel and drilled some slots for the leds to sit in and it was good.

any size will work if you're willing to do some drilling and modifications. I dont know what the led size you would need if you wanted it to just slide into the oem socket. i know the oem bulb is extremely small. just take it apart and you'll see what you have to work with.
