JDM Engine Swap.... (my post from a year ago)
JDM engine?
JDM Engine
JDM engine-tranny swap
And yet ANOTHER engine swap question
JDM engine fuel consumption question
Trouble with JDM Engine
Which is better: JDM Engine or Type II Engine
JDM Swap

Still didnt find the answer to my question. I have a 92 LS Auto... When my trans blew i swapped in a 94 JDM engine+trans. Ive been running a US ecu for the past year.. but it has flat spots under acceleration.. like flat from 3000-4500rpm under full throttle... Also the shift points are like 300rpms earlier then they used to be... Is this because i need a JDM ECU? Does anyone REALLY have the skinny on the JDM stuff? I read like 50 threads and theres about 50 different answers? So who really knows what the hecks going on?

PM Dv8. He's messed with all of the different JDM/USDM combinations and would probably know. My understanding is that the JDM tranny is geared differently from the USDM and you would probably need a JDM ECU/TCU. That's one of the reasons I reused my USDM tranny when I did my JDM swap. Good luck---
