Need HELP ASAP: Front Koni Install
I did the rear (Koni/GC) already but the front struts are aftermarket. The spring perch and brake line retainer are all part of the strut. They can't be removed. I need these peices to go on the Koni struts. What can I do????
Please don't say go to the dealer. I went there to get a new bump stop because one of my front ones was messed up and they want $42 just for that little peice.

Both the spring perch and brake line retainer come off if you wack them with a hammer enough times...
Let me know if you need a pic, I think I have one. -James Quote:

See the thing is that whoever had the Leg b4 me put some KYB gas struts on there and the spring perch and brake retainer are all part of the strut. Like welded on. They don't even go all around the strut they're just welded to the side they're supposed to be on.
Does anyone have these parts they can sell to me? I have to get my car complete by October 23rd and time is flying....

Talked to the local tuner shop they say I have to get the stock struts. Oh well after spending over $800 for the suspension upgrade I know have to spend $120-$150 to buy the stock crap from a junk yard....
My wallet is not happy.....can anyone beat that price on the front struts?????

Dang, that sucks... Most ppl that have replaced their OEM struts have already jacked their mounts off of them, I know I did.
I think your best bet is the junk yard... or take a shot in the dark and call Acura and see if they sell them separate from the strut. -James Quote:

I tryed the dealer $118 each for the spring perchs and they don't sell the brake line retainer seperate from the strut. They just sell the clip (which is useless without the retainer) for $5.40 each. Found a place near Shea Stadium that'll sell me the front assembly for $120. Guess I'll try that.
