Ok, I didn't know if your flip chip was just ignition or ignition and fuel map switchable.

Switchable map for the AFC makes sense. Must be a SAFCII or whatever they're calling 'em now. Perfectly reasonable by itself, although forgetting to switch maps could be a disaster.

The point I was making about the AFC values to the nitrous map on the chip is this:

The percentage correction based on throttle position on the AFC will not directly coincide with the change of values on the chip. Honestly you could only hope the chip burner has a good instinct for translating the values.

Like a much less reasonable estimate than calculating 1/4 mile from 1/8th mile ET.

IMO I wouldn't spend the money on a chip with guesses and hope it is right. You would be better off using the fpr vacuum line method of enrichment and tuning it from there. So you could have fueling close before you have to trust the electronics.

But My AL.COM brothers, you give me such credibility with your deapth of knowledge, and i bask in the glow, my thanks to both of you to be able to (quasi-snidley) state your case, refer questions, dicker over the details, agree or not in a public foum and its still readable and and interesting and not a rant, and in the end agree that both seem to know WTF they're talking about, different/same, whatever,...but informed...not just the Elijah Craig talkin here either...
that is just fuckin' awesome, i dont care who you are...
Get Off kids...so enjoyable, keep that shit comin''

I'm going to quote you on that.

All things being equal, the ZEX kit is probably where you should start, if the price is right and wet/zex are your only two choices. Make sure those vacuum lines are secured and don't be surprised if it is terribly rich.

I would suggest setting the nitrous up on a dyno with a wideband. This is the safest way to go, no matter how you look at it.

If you find a dry NOS system, most (if not all) have a mechanical servo that REGULATES nitrous pressure down to about 50psi instead of just using a couple of restrictors (the restrictors allow for pressure spikes). Your fueling will be much more consistent if you go that route.

Make sure you call me first. Also juice the Porsche. Putting the giggle gas on a lawnmower will be sure to disappoint. Plus if you blow up the John Deere it's gonna become a John Doe. YouTube - Mower Vs Nitrous

Like grumpy said, go with a Zex kit and stick to the instructions. Nos kit 5123 was a universal 6cyl kit they had when I bought mine-Zex didn't exist yet. It works well too. No more than 75hp on the Zex and 60 shot with the NOS. Your car wont have any issues unless you deviate from the instruction manual.

I suppose thats why I call myself Dv8.

I used a bayou chip back when I first sprayed, it ran pig rich, nitrous ran well and safe.

Later when I started to push more nitrous I used an SAFC to increase fuel on the dyno and with a wideband, It only had one programmable map. I would change the settings between N/A and nitrous every time I wanted to do either or.

The SAFC II came out with 2 programmable maps that could be switched on the fly, which made it easier.
I went direct port and it never worked out the way I had planned. If you want a wet nitrous system, again stick with the Zex.

Around 100-125shot timing retard was required but couldn't be altered(Telion & SR5guy weren't making chips yet) so I went for the EMS and never looked back.
The 316hp/345tq I used a .55 jet, and could have gone higher as it showed no signs of a ceiling, but I wasn't about to get greedy.
