TB bypass gone WRONG?
Ok guys,
I need some of the geniuses here to help me figure this one out. Last night I finished doing the TB coolant bypass (along with a CAI and ground wiring kit install) All seemed to go well until I drove the car for a few min. After about 5 min of driving, as I was pulling back into my driveway, the thermostat was 3/4 of the way up the gauge. I left it running, and after 4 more min it just suddenly wet back down to normal. Went for another 5 min ride and all was fine. This morning I tried it again and after about 4 miles driving, it overheated again. Only this time it didn't cool off on its own. Pulled in to a gas station, pumped, let it cool for 3 min, turned it on and it was normal again. Made it home another 4 miles away with no overheating. I've double checked my bypass diagraming to the DIY by Cole Austin here on the forums and everything is fine. IAC line connected to lower most plug on TB, higher two plugs connected to each other. No leaks, etc. At first I thought it was because some of the new coolant I put in (after the spill from removing the coolant lines) was recirculating the engine, but its happening repeatedly now. Any ideas???? Not a clue where to start. Pics below...... Overheating after 5 min of driving.... Back to normal on its own after sitting for 5 min while running. ?????????? Thanks ahead of time. You may want try bleeding the excess air out of your coolant system. I know I am stating the obvious but you didn't mention doing this in your post. I like to drive my car up a set of ramps so it sits at an angle the forces the air up to the top front area of the car and bleed it while it is on teh ramps.
