Type II Heads Installation

I recently just bought a type II head off cbr900bikes and I was wondering if anyone knew prices on installation. I live in NJ and there is a local shop im going to get a price quote from. Other members are telling me I should get a 3angle valve job, cam work, p&p done while the head is out, how much extra would something like that cost? I was also wondering what I should use to clean the head while its out and if I could possibly repaint all the black plastic peices. Anyone with input?

well you will need to get a new set of head gaskets. as far as i know, they are not reuseable.

if you are not very technically inclined, and or dont have the tools or manuals, then get a shop to do it.

putting on heads will not be cheap, because they have to tear the engine bay apart.

i would expect to pay ~$500 for it to be put on, and then a set of headgaskets....

and yes, if you have the funding, then get the P&P, and 3 angle job done.

and there's not much point to painting anything on the head, you really can't see it when it's installed, the valve covers, the exhaust covers, fuel rail covers, intake manifold, timing belt covers all block the heads from being seen

Expect $1000 for labor to remove and reinstall the heads. Just labor. If you find it cheaper your lucky.

The entire job costed me $2300 CND with heads machined.
