Energy Suspension is nearby my place. I don't mind driving down there--no problem.
Big brake kits and CAIs are a waste of R&D effort because both already exist, and let's face it; Wilwood, Brembo, and Stoptech make top-notch applications for the Legend, and we might only stand to gain another whp or two with a more efficient CAI. None of this seems worth the time investment to me, but it's your company and your call. If I was you, I would be spending time to R&D newfangled parts: bushings, suspension arms, chassis braces, plastic intake manifolds, under carriage diffusers (this is so simple and effective; let's do it!), etc... I need to get those pictures of the Elise to you. k.

Yeah - I'm thinking a BBK for around $1200 would be a nice alternative for some of us.
I will try to reach out to ES this week and see if they'd be willing to look at it, or exactly what they would need.

Quality BBKs are expensive because they're not cheap to manufacture. If the reason your kit is cheaper is because the rotors are single piece and the calipers are smaller, then that's cool; however, if it's because the caliper pistons aren't sleeved and forged, and the rotors are made of Chinese metals then people should think twice about what they're paying (or not paying) for.
That's sort of off-topic, though. I'm just writing to persuade you to be more revelatory with your Legend endeavors; that's all. There are all these non-existant goodies in the Legend world that would be leaps forward in terms of modernizing our cars (I mentioned some in my previous post). Concentrating efforts there should prove more fruitful than reinventing the wheel. Go ahead and flame me, guys. You won't change my opinion.

MrKeith does have a fantastic point. I can say that if I'm going to do a BBK, I'd drop the $3k but I'm too cheap for either the $1200 system or the $3000 system (until I've got way more money then I have now).
So far, I've been very excited for the new gear because it's all new. I like that trend a lot!

I would like to see more suspension modifications like the adjustable camber/toe adjustment pieces. Also, more aero parts like front/rear diffusers (carbon fiber if possible) that have a nice oem aftermarket look.
A TORSEN LSD would be nice (Quaife?).

Are you working on suspension stuff only or would you be able to do engine components too? If yes (wether it's you or someone else who wants to be a supplier) then here they come:
Headers + y pipe Cam gears Cam shafts Lightened pulleys (same size as stock) Lightened flywheel (would be the sh*t!!! I'd love to see this for a Legend) Lightweight driveshaft I know some of this is major stuff, but alot of people tend to forget that it's not just the power of the engine, it's how it gets to the ground-if all the components are light, then that means more power AND better throttle response (plus every mod will be used to it's fulest potential). If we can convince certain companies to make the above, the legend can move up the latter of preformance luxury. |
