New Infraction Point Scale -- Please Read.
Effective Monday, January 28, 2008, a new infraction policy will be enforced in an effort to encourage self-moderation by all members of this forum. The penalties for each point earned and issued will be considerably more stringent. However, with self-moderation as the goal of this shift, we hope to have less occasion to issue infraction points than we have up until now.
The scale of the new infraction system is as follows.
1 point = 1 day ban
2 points = 7 day ban
3 points = 2 week ban
4 points = 1 month ban
5 points = Perma ban
Points will continue to be issued based on the severity of the infraction (i.e. objectionable content vs. name calling vs. personal threats etc..) and can accumulate.
Until the implementation of this new policy, we will continue to enforce the current policy. All points accumulated will carry forward but will not be enforced retroactively. They will, however, count towards points issued after the new policy is implemented and will result in the appropriate penalty as listed above.
