New Member with hope for help!

Hello all my name is Rob.
About 4 years ago I bought a 92 Acura Legend Sedan and fell in love with it instantly! About 2 months after I got it it started overheating on me. I started cheap and worked my way up, replaced thermostat myself, Paid a local mechanic to install a new water pump and all other components. Still had overheating issue and did not want to deal with a BHG so I sold it.
Today I am here because I found a 93 Acura Legend Sedan for sale locally and could not resist I broke down and went and checked it out and of course fell in love all over again... The price was GREAT and from what the seller told me it is a really good car. I checked it out drove it and it was exactly what I wanted. Needed a Fender, Headlight, and Turn signal assemblies. Replaced those items today excited that my car looks so great now.
I asked seller about all the known problems and they told me what I thought was honest. Told me that since they bought the car a year and a half ago that the heat had never worked. I asked if they ever had any overheating problems and they said that it had never overheated for them. After replacing body parts I decided that I would let it idle and play with the settings of the car... Radio, seat settings, etc. After idling about 10 mins I noticed the temp gauge slowly climbing. I shut it off immediately, let it sit and cool as i read some of the possibilities on this great site! Once car cooled I restarted and waited to see if it was going to overheat again. I noticed that the fans were not kicking in when getting warmer. Switched some relays around watched fans kick on and keep the car at good operating temp for a few mins then they quit again and car started to overheat again. The heat does not blow warm at all. Wondering what all of you Legend Lovers and experts think my possibilities could be. Don't know whether I should start cheap and work my way up again or if anyone has had the similar issues and knows the fix... I am willing to spend some cash to get this vehicle in good running order because I love the car so much. I just don't want to drop TOO MUCH cash into it.
I thank anyone and everyone for their input! Please help me I am lost!

Welcome to the forums, if your not getting heat they may have bypassed the heater core or it's clogged up from them adding BHG sealant. A lot of shady sellers do that to sell a car they know had issues.

I hope this isn't what happened to you. I suggest before you spend anymore money to get a hydro carbon test done. (No need in spending money if the true cure is HG replacement.)
