No no no, the red wire is red wire, high beam wires are high beam wires, don't splice them you might have blown some fuses, please don't.

For inspection: I suggest that temporary use the high beam power switch to toggle those fogs.

Then after that, you can make your own toggle switch to power up those fogs like I said before.

Meaning that you have 2 options (2 sets of wiring) are laying at the head lights and ready to swap the connection to the fogs. (seperate fog toggle sw. and high beam toggle sw. oem).

In addition, let me give you an idea: make yourself some hot swap connectors (plug and play male and female connectors) at those fog lights housing. If you can find some old usdm corner light connectors then use them for this project and you're good to go.

Thanks so much. im out in the garage right running wire through the firewall. Let me get this striaght. ground both fogs (black) and then connect both fog hot wires (red) to each other and then run that one red wire through the firewall to the toggle, then to the yellow ing.wire right? only one wire through the firewall? so the power is comming from the yellow wire?

Sorry for all the questions but i'm finally finished!!! Thanks so much for this DIY! I used a toggle switch under the dash insted of a relay. The fogs come on when the car is started just like driving lights but now can be turned off if i want. Thanks again. I will have pics soon in the gallery.

Ah, no problem. That sounds so as easy as you just did. Congrates Jeff.

Did you prepare to have those JDM fogs to flash on by high beam toggle sw. before the inspection due?

Yea, i put quick connects on the end of both so i can switch them easily when inspection time comes.

As this DIY's gone along pretty well and I've learned some of the new ideas from other members. I'd like to summarize some of the easily simple options that you all can do to the JDM fog lights. It depends on each personal preferences then you can make them work on either way of their functionality the way you want them to. And each of its own result turn out to be so great OEM looking. So far at least there are 4 options which I can think of:

1. With a relay as original state from this DIY.
2. Without a relay plus an additional seperate toggle on/off switch.
3. By using an existing OEM high beam toggle switch.
4. Or by splicing these JDM fogs to the OEM fogs or Hella fogs existing wiring harness.

I think the most preferable option would be option # 2.

And be careful with option # 4, just make sure that your existing fog lights wiring harness is capable of handling more current flow b/c in this case you are indeed to double the wattages and the currents flow at the same time through the existing fog lights wiring harness. Since the OEM or the Hella fog lights wiring harness design just enough to handle 1 set of the fog lights only. If you'd like to do so, you might consider to upgrade the wiring harness to a larger gauge and a higher fuse rating as well as the fuse holder or else you will experience in melting your fog light wiring harness or keep blowing fuses or even worst. Honestly, I do not recommend this option very much b/c of your own safety concern seriously.

Any other better ideas and comments are welcome to add to this thread as it's going along.

Cheers,
