Great Job Smartjay28

Great job there smartjay28, this will help a lot of members with TB cleaning. My only input is: it's throttle not trottle other than that, I believe you covered everything. Maybe the moderator can put this in the DIY section.

I googled "trottle body" just to see. And you won't believe how much links it found!!! Even products being sold on online shops say "trottle body spray".

lol!

I can believe it! I keep reading these "TREADS" about how much "THREAD" is left on a tire.

You can put thread in a needle, but can you check the depth of the thread on your tires?

You can tread on someone, or have 75% tread left on a set of tires, but you can't thread a tire.

Oh well, that's confuser's for you, I caint tipe either.

I am going to attempt to clean my throttle body myself and was wondering ...

can it be well cleaned while its on the car, or should it be removed ? If I clean it when it's on the car, is it necessary to put a small brush inside the part ?
Ok we got a start, people posted how to do it, lets see what stu does now

Quote:
I am sure I could remove it and clean it, its just that I dont trust that afterwards the car will start !
At least he admitted he’s a dumbass

Now that helps me out a lot ! I will wait a few days (just in case anyone wants to add anything) and then I will do this !!!
Oooooo, I think he might just do it this time

I pulled my CIA off today to clean it.... entire inside of TB was black, like it had oil all over it.... glad I found this, now I know what I'm gonna do this weekend! Anyone suggest doing the TB coolant bypass while I'm at it? Any main advantages/disadvantages? Thanks!

the four nuts come off easy, and the Throttle position sensor plug comes out just fine.

Spray and clen the throttle body, pay special attention round the butterfly valve. Don't remove the butterfly.

As someone said, remove the idle adjustment screw AFTER counting the number of turns to close it all the way. Clean the screw and the hole, reassemble.

It all goes back together real easy.
i got a question, when you take those 2 hoses out, do fluid comes out and you have to put fluid back in?

coolant comes out when you pull bypass the hose so yes, you would need to top off the radiator AND (ans ur 2nd post) bleed the cooling system(percaution).
