My name is Thomas and I'm new to the forum and a new legend owner. I've used this forum as resource prior to joining, particularly with some of the issues I've had with my Legend. This car has been fantastic to drive and an absolute joy, but this S3 light has been bothering me upon post-purchase of the vehicle. I've looked up the S3 blinking light issue here before, and it has lead me to some conclusions and somewhat of an idea what may be the problem but I'd love to use the collective knowledge of all you experienced owners to help me narrow it all down.
So basically here's what's up:
The S3 light blinks when the car begins to move around 25-30mph. Everything functions perfectly, it shifts through all gears in D, moves to S3, and to 2nd gear as well. However it does not shift to S4. I've tried consulting the TCU under the seat but the light only blinks once and no code is relayed to me.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
This car is fantastic, low miles, total deal, but it has some flaws, and I hope at least one can get solved here.
Both. The only red light I found was under the passenger.
I found the TCU, and have tried looking for a code. It only blinks once when the key is turned. It blinks once, as in it turns red, and doesn't blink after that.
Under the passenger seat is the ECU, which is for the engine. The TCU is under the driver seat. You need to pull the seat all the way forward and look at it from behind. There is a little cover you need to flip open to see the blinking LED.

Thats probably what it is. What you'll need to do is find the big nut that splits the cable in half. It'll come out from the firewall and you shouldn't miss it. Once you split the cable in half, clean it with some solvent, then you'll need to pack the end with litheum based grease. Once you put it back together, in the engine bay fuse box, remove the Alternator Fuse for about 10 seconds to reset the TCU. If it comes back, then you'll need to replace the cable itself for a new one. You can get a new one from RockAuto Parts Catalog

I did the DIY to the letter, but the issue still persists. I'll be ordering a new cable soon but, just to be sure, is there anything else that should be checked up on or replaced coinciding with this issue?
