brake light wont turn off

i think i know why its not turning off. my brake light switch is broken. theres some plastic piece on the floor such as this cone shaped thing. so i was wondering, where is the break light switch? where did this piece come from?

if you mean your rear brake lights, then yes, the little rubber plug came out from the brake pedal...

You can get another one from the dealer or a generic one from the auto parts store....on my Datsun I just put a bolt in there and the head does the work now

From the brake pedal, travel up the arm....depress the brake pedal a little...run your fingers up the front of the arm until you feel an empty hole....that is where that little plug goes....the plug presses in on a plunger and that turns off the brake lights...I'd say stick a proper sized bolt in there till tomorrow...then you can go buy a replacement plug...

put a bolt in there if you want.. of glue a penny on and adjust the switch a bit and you should be set.
