Car 1: 1988 Acura Legend L Automatic

Finally got pics of my car

Well, I finally got some pictures of my 88 Legend L. It's been VERY well taken care of. Sorry if this belongs in the gallery. I thought I'd put it here because I have a few questions to go along with it.

Here's a few shots of the front at different angles:

A little lower:

What squirrels see as they skitter out of the way:

Side pics:

From the back:

And from the left:

Here's the front left tire:

Back left tire:

Alloy wheels! Kinda dirty, I know. It's a weekend project for the near future to clean em up a bit:

Now for the interior. We'll start at the driver's side and work our way around clockwise.

Seats from Driver's side:

Driver's door:

Here's the steering wheel and dash:

And from the left:

The center console's a little cracked with age and wear, but that and the carpets and floormats are just about the only things here that show much in the way of signs of aging:

Here's the center controls, climate, CD player, etc. Yes, that IS an Acura OEM CD player. It came out of my stepbrother-in-law's friend's late 90's Integra, I believe.

A close up of the CD player:

And a close-up of the climate controls:

Here's the whole front:

From the passenger seat, the glove box:

Moving down a little:

And here's my messy carpet. Don't yell at me! It's the middle of Winter! It's all muddy! Also note, my sweet improvised cupholder.

From the passenger seat looking left:

And the passenger door:

Now we move to the back seats. From the passenger side:

The rest are all from the front looking back:
Right side:

Middle:

Left:

From the outside left looking right:

And now, the trunk:

I hate Chemistry...

I showed my car to a friend of mine, and the first thing he said when he saw the trunk was, "Wow, that's easily a 3-body trunk!" None of us have looked at him the same since, lol.

I tried to take a pic of the underside from the back left, but it didn't turn out too well:

Now, the fun part. Under the hood. This pic is towards the back:

About center:

Overview:

I tried to take some close-ups to get a better look at things. Here it goes:

Back right corner:

Also, in this picture, you can see a hose or some insulation or something that looks like it's shriveled and died. Is that important? Do I need to replace it anytime soon?

Front right corner:

Back middle of the engine:

Front middle:

Back left:

Front left:

Here's a few side view shots from the left working right:

What's all that crusty stuff on the Alternator? Any ideas?

Here's the right side headlight:

Here's some shots of the Windshield:

It's kinda hard to tell from those shots, but the windshield, I noticed the other day, has a TON of really tiny chips in it. Any way I can fix this? Like, make it so it doesn't impair visibility?

And alas, my poor antenna:

That's as far down as it goes. The motor's fine, I can hear it clicking as it tries to pull the antenna down farther, but it won't go. It probably just needs some WD40. Any suggestions?

Well, that's my car. Probably the best-kept 20-year-old car I've ever seen. You guys got any comments or suggestions?

Looks nice! No rust.
Too many pics though!

Are you going to keep the front plate off? If so, remove those brackets too. Was that stereo in there when you got it? It looks like it's from an Integra maybe.

Wow, that was a lot of pictures. The car looks sharp!

FWIW, bodies are the standard unit of measurement for trunk space

lol...

Yeah, that stereo is one my step-brother-in-law took out of his friend's Integra. When my stepmon had the car, it had an Alpine radio. She left it unlocked overnight, and someone stole it, so my step brother in law put one in from a friend's car he had just upgraded.

I'm not gonna keep the front plate off. Those screwholes are too unsightly with the white paint. I just re-regestered the car, and I got the plates in the mail the other day, just haven't put em on yet.

Yeah, this car was kept in good condition. Reupholstered 2 or 3 times. The alignment was checked by the first owner every 10-20,000 miles or so lol. The guy was obsessed with keeping it in good shape. Too bad it has a salvage title... STUPID insurance companies...

Are you referring to the hose running to the air intake?

It's just an air hose, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Eeeehh... not EXACTLY true... there's a little bit of rust on the bolts that hold the fenders on under the hood.

That's all I can find, though.
