G1 EGR Cleaning DIY?

I was wondering if anyone had a DIY EGR cleaning for a G1 Sedan.

I'd suggest you try the cheap route 1st, check and see if your vacuum system is airtight, here is how you'd go about doing this, you'll need a can of brake cleaner; start by running the engine to normal temp., then hit ALL vacuum hoses and connectors with the brake cleaner, if the idle surges then you've found your vacuum leak.

Also, try cleaning the EACV/IAC valve and the fast idle valve, most likely, you've got some good amount of carbon build up in there, you can use a carburator cleaner for this one, spray inside EACV/IAC valve until you can clearly see the white plastic belows, same cleaning procedure for the fast idle valve and don't forget to replace them o-rings (stealership item), 1 figure8 for the fast idle valve and 2 regular o-rings for the EACV/IAC valve, hopefully this will address your problem, good luck!

because you copied the text and the text includes "..." in the middle of the link so as to save some space. for future reference, if you want to copy and paste from a different thread, hit quote and then copy from the post reply page, that way you will have complete links.

and nobody was yelling at you, great job at digging that up for us.

^^^ I wouldn't recommend performing this task just because Gabe... unless, your car is in need of a coolant flush (among other things) them EGR and air suction pipes would be impossible to remove with the water passage (plenum) STILL attached to the intake manifold.

I know it has to come off, that's how I did mine last time my EGR system got serviced.

I was actually thinking about doing it on my parts car because the hood, Radiator, condenser, intake plumbing, and headlights have all been removed...therefore it'd be pretty easy for everyone to see what I'm doing...

Only problem is that once I finish the job and put it back together, I cant start the car to feel the difference
