the Prelude has 4 lug rotors all the way up to 1996 - they are 23mm 10.2 inch rotors. The 5G preludes are 5 luggers and are 23mm 11.1 inch rotors.

It LOOKS like to me that your 1G legends share the same brake specs as the 4G preludes. Is that right?

BRAKES

Every Legend has four-wheel disc brakes. The vented front rotors on 1986-1987 sedans measure 10.3 inches (262mm) in diameter and the solid rear rotors measure 10.2 inches (259mm). Sedans from 1988-1990 and all coupes had 11-inch (280mm) rotors in the front and 10.16-inch (258mm) in the rear. ABS was available on upmarket models.
Honda Legend - Wikicars

Is this accurate?

Hmmm...problems already...the 2.7's diameter is also listed as 11.1"

Looks like the bracket is whats positioning it out...damn....well no need to get stuck...I can continue looking for rotors but I still want to try the Prelude and/or G2 one just to be sure...

Also, the G2's drum in brake parking brake may prevent the rears from ever being used....but theres no harm in trying right!?

EDIT: Oh looks like you already noticed that to

actually it looks like the 96 prelude VTEC is 4 lug, not 5. That should be a good rotor to search for!

Dont know the year...but it was an L coupe....red on black leather too

Anyhow it is obvious that the calipers and pads are indeed larger than the G1 parts....however, according to all the data, the rotors should be the same diameter...

Not a problem...ingenuity is my copilot...

I remember reading some article a while ago stating that a criticism for the G2 when it was new was that it should have had slightly larger brakes for the weight of the car...

take a measuring tape and find out if that is a 10.2/10.3 rotor. if so an 11.1 should fit nicely. then you need to measure the hat height and find out if the Prelude is the same.

One thing you could try is head over to Autozone/Napa/Pepboys and ask them to pull out a rotor for your model and year Legend and a 1996 Prelude VTEC and ask if you can hold them next to eachother.

Not to hijack my own thread....but Kotetu did you guys know that the 99-04 RLs used 11.8" Rotors w/ 28mm thickness?

How different are the underpinnings of these cars compared to the G2s?

Yeah I was thinking about rolling over to Autozone this weekend to compare...

I didnt bother to measure, but that coupe I was working on should have been 11.1"....but we'll see!

yes I knew that. AFAIK, the rotor bolts up, but I am pretty sure if you want to use a 2 pot caliper you have to make a bracket for it.

I'm looking into 13 inch rotors for my 4 pot 2005 RL calipers.
