I’ve been doing some upgrades to my coupe in the stereo department. One of the side-mods I’ve done since I have everything apart is to add cupholders. This is chuckee98’s mod so my props to him . It’s the Taurus/Saab DIN size cup holder. I like the looks and can’t wait to have my car back together so I can use it. I threw in some extra shots so you could see how it was mounted and what part of the metal bracket I had to cut.

From that last picture it looks like you just modified the metal mount that wraps around the rear. This is pretty cool. I would love to have some nice cup holders in my car. Do you have any pictures of them open? I don't use that space anyway.

Sure...that reminds me...if anyone wants picture details of any particular part...now is the time before I install it in the car.

Lookin' good!
I should have thought about cutting the OEM metal bracket, but instead, I took it off completely and made my own side brackets with some steel strapping and metal scraps. Much cleaner install with cutting the bracket the way you did.

looks like it would fit...the question is whether or not it has low level outputs...but you may be able to add resistors to bring them down to a level your amps can handle.

I have this same one in my car and it has high outputs
Anyone know if that kind of system will work in an 89 L? I was just YELLING today about my wonderment of "who the brain donor was that decided to build a luxury car with no cupholders!!!" This question was just subsequent to a fresh cup of coffee spilling all over my legs and leading me to the nearest parking lot.
Hmmm...think that lawsuit over hot coffee thing would work twice in this country?
I say before you install it you take it apart and photograph as much as possible and make a DIY for this. I will probably do this in the next month, and I know I would greatly appreciate a DIY to go by.
