Got A Serious Brain Teaser For U Acura Gurus..Help Needed!!

I'll try to make this quick and simple. My girl gave me a 1988 Acura Legend LS: 5 SPd..V6..All power & Leather etc.
It has been sitting for 2 yrs.
The car wasn't getting fire to the starter. So i replaced all the underhood & under dash relays. Then i had power to the starter. Then i replaced the inoperative fuel pump. The engine will not start..but sounds like its trying hard. Ive even substituted with another ECU. The car has fire..fuel..and air. All plugs are firing and the timing is spot on, i also did a resistance test on the dist. pickup..it was fine. The only way it will start is of i spray throttle body cleaner inside the intake hose. It will run till out of cleaner and vaguely rev a little (im revving it) while its running on carb cleaner..when out of cleaner it dies. I pumped all of the old fuel out with the new pump.(with fuel lines unhooked of course.) All of my injectors are pulsing too. Lastly..my ECU is blinking(red LED blinks 1 quick then 7 in succession) thats a code 17(speed sensor). I cant see that stopping it from running. The only thing i can think of is that theres still water in the fuel. I plan toput 5 more gallons of 93' in it and some Dry GAs treatment to get the water out. Could water in the fuel be stopping it from running?

If you're positive you have fuel PRESSURE to the system then you must have an injector system problem, could be one of several fairly simple things.

If it's been sitting for 2 years w/o running, I can think of a few things.
1. Gas is bad. You need to drain the gas tank and fill it up w/ fresh fuel. Also, there's probably a lot of gunk all over your fuel system from all the old gas that will need to be cleaned out

2. Possible light rust around cylender walls. I don't think I really need to explain more.

There's other stuff too, and more then likely, probably a combination thereof. Anyways, good luck on getting it running and having everything restored to running condition.

Valvoline Fuel SYSTEM Cleaner

Well my legend has been sitting for some time now, and it has about 1/5 a tank of gas. So before I put new gas in, I am thinking of putting some "Valvoline Fuel SYSTEM Cleaner". Would that be a good idea, and has anyone used this before?????
What about Chevron Fuel INJECTOR Cleaner"???

How old is that gas? If it's older then 1 year old, I really recomend you drain the old nasty gas out of your gas tank and put fresh fuel in. If not, you'll be looking at costly repairs.

Are you sure about that new fuel pump you put in? Sounds to me like its a problem with fuel getting to the chamber
